Technology Without Humanity Means Nothing

Technology Without Humanity Means Nothing

Be sure to read our new post on this topic as well: The Zionist Occupation of Open Source.

At Moneo, we believe technology cannot be separated from humanity. Code is never neutral. Whether written by human hands or by AI, every line carries the values, choices and intentions of the people who shape it. Open source is also a political stance, because choosing to share knowledge freely is a decision about fairness, access and the kind of world we want to build together.

Guillermo Rauch, the CEO of Vercel and creator of Next.js, shared a recent post that became the breaking point for us. In the past he had already praised Israel and faced strong criticism from the community, yet he chose to repeat the same stance. We had respect for him and I was even in contact with him, but when someone openly shows a Zionist position, glorifies the guilty, ignores genocide and speaks from a higher ground despite past backlash, the truth becomes clear. By repeating this stance he has confirmed once again that he praises the guilty and stands as a supporter of Zionism.

We saw the photo and the words: “Optimistic for peace, safety, and greatness for Israel and its neighbors.”

This is not optimism, it is refusing to face reality. When leaders who are responsible for war crimes are supported and described as bringing “greatness,” it does not mean peace, it insults the pain of victims. How can there be peace when women, children and babies are killed every single day? How can there be hope when mothers search the rubble for their children, when fathers carry the lifeless bodies of their sons and daughters, when whole families are buried in one day? To smile and speak of “safety” in such a moment is not hope, it is ignoring human suffering.

When people are no longer seen as human beings but only as instruments of an ideology like Zionism, their words expose their real intent. In that light, speaking of “greatness” is not about peace or hope, it is glorifying those who commit crimes and excusing the suffering of the innocent. Killing civilians is a crime against humanity.

For us the only path is the immediate end of systematic violence and real global accountability for innocent lives lost. History shows that those who commit atrocities and those who stand beside them are judged. When that day comes the one standing next to Guillermo will be remembered as a new You Know Who and Guillermo himself will carry the shame, not the shame of compassion but of knowingly choosing the wrong side and being seen as part of the crime.

Our choice is clear. Moneo has cut all ties with Vercel, Next.js and their ecosystem. We will not use their tools in our products, we will not add them to client projects and we will not join their events. This is not about technology, it is about morals. We refuse to be part of something that ignores basic human empathy.

We stand against war. We stand against the killing of civilians. We stand against oppression in all forms. This decision is not about politics, religion, or culture. It is about conscience, empathy, and the pain of witnessing the loss of innocent lives.

And there is one question everyone must ask themselves: Do you stand with the innocent, or with those who admire war criminals?

Our voice may be small, but it will not be silenced. Because technology without humanity is nothing.
